Mooney Fly-in, Longview Tx. 6/5/10

My son, Bodie, invited me to fly with him to his first ever Mooney fly-in. It was being held at Longview, Tx. We fly out of ROG, Rogers Ar., that makes it a 242 nautical mile trip for us.No problem for a Mooney pilot. Flight Aware showed us at 153Kts with 1hr and 37 minutes in route. When we were sixty miles out GGG was reporting 300 ft and 4 miles, we were expecting to have to shoot an instrument approach but by the time we arrived it was 2500 scattered.
